The bath at osjo is 100% rice bran. We add no enzyme cultures or enzyme liquids — just bran and water, fermented by hand. You lie on your back in a wooden tub, and our staff cover you in rice bran from head to toe. Around your face too, if you like.
You stay in the bran for about 15–20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it off in the shower and rest on the sofa behind reception with something to drink. First time? We'll walk you through every step, starting with how to get into the tub.

Tubs of wood and straw
Our tubs are made of wood, with straw wrapped around the sides. The rice bran ferments naturally inside them.

Homemade amazake before you go in
Before the bath, a shot glass of our homemade amazake — a sweet, non-alcoholic rice drink. Take a breath, then into the bran.

Come empty-handed
Towels, hair dryers, makeup remover, shampoo and conditioner are all provided. Disposable paper underwear, shower caps and earplugs too.
Fifteen minutes in the bran.
Time to do nothing at all.

We adjust the bran temperature for each guest, so we can only take a few people at a time. Please book via LINE or phone before you come.

From Kintetsu Fuse Station, walk through the shopping arcade to the 4th floor of the Fuse Building. See Access for directions.

We'll ask about anything on your mind and your blood pressure, and what you're hoping for from the bath.

We explain how to get into the tub, what to watch out for, and how to use the changing room and showers.

Changing
Drink plenty of water before you go in. If you'd rather not go in unclothed, disposable paper underwear is available, as are shower caps and earplugs. Put your belongings in a locker and keep the key with you.

In the bran (about 15–20 min)
While you change, our staff prepare the tub. You lie on your back and we cover your whole body in rice bran — your face too, if you like. If you feel tired or unwell at any point, tell us right away.

Shower
Rinse off the bran. We don't provide body soap, and we suggest rinsing without shampoo if you can.
- 08
Rest and freshen up
Rest on the sofa behind reception and have something to drink. The powder room has skincare products and hair dryers.

How long do I stay in the bran?
